About Diego Rodriguez

My name is Diego A. Rodriguez. I am a Storyboard Artist, Concept Art Illustrator, and a published author who lives in Los Angeles, California.  I began my career as an illustrator and author at a young age. In 2007, at the age of fifteen, I wrote, illustrated, and published my first book Las aventuras de Doña Despiste in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It was later published in Venezuela that same year and since then, it has been adopted by numerous prestigious schools in both countries as part of their Spanish Class Curriculum.

Driven by my passion for visual storytelling, I went to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Film and Television Production at the University of Texas at Austin. As a student, I studied multiple aspects of Animation Production including: Storyboarding, Concept Art, Scriptwriting, and Show Development for Television.

In 2014, I was selected for the prestigious University of Texas Los Angeles Program where I was offered the opportunity to intern at NBC Universal as a Development Assistant to the Creative Executive. That same year I won the RTF Undergraduate Award for Creative Work Grant.

After graduation, I moved to Europe to further my professional experience. Living in Brussels and Berlin, I worked as a storyboard artist, visual designer, scriptwriter, and development assistant for Communication Package and Rock’n’Roll Pictures. I was involved in the production of shorts (Animated and Live) for clients including the European Commission, Merck Pharmacies,  Start-Ups, and other independent firms.

On February of 2019, I moved back to Los Angeles, California.
